Climates

In this summary I will be develop the distintic climates that are: Equatorial Climates,Tropical Continentals,Monsoon,Hot Desert and Cold Climates.

The Equatorial Climates is located in the Equator 5ºN/S. The areas of this climate have an average rainfall of 2000/2500mm. This climate has a hot and wet weather, a higth humidity purct. Also because of its lack of seasonal change. Furthermore this climate has a  daily weather pattern. The daily Pattern is when the ground surface is wet, so then it starts  to evaporate because temperatures are so high. Then the clouds start accomulate and by sunset clouds are saturate. A characteristic of the Daily Pattern is that its rain a lot in a short period of time.

Tropical Continental are places in the centre of continents, away from coasts, between 5º to 15º N/S of Equator. These climates alternate wet and dry season that are caused by an apparent movement of the overhead sun. In side the tropical weather are two types of seasons: hot/wet and warm/dry, these seasons on the hemisphere  were is the sun located. Tropical Continental have a high temperature average 31ºC and annual range of temp 8ºC.

Monsoon means "season". It is located in south-east Asia. Monsoon it have two seasons: one that is south-west monsoon that is wet and hot season. The otherone is North-east monsoon that is dry and cold seasons.

Hot Desert is located in the west side of Continents, between 5º/30º N/S of the Equator. The Hot desert have high temperatures during little or no rainfall. The reasons for being dry are:

  • Prevailing winds blow from areas (land)
  • Winds have to cross mountains
  • Warm air from the Equator has became colder in higher latitudes and descends in theses area.
  • Winds that blow from the sea are cold and bring no moisture

  • Cold Climate is found in the Poleward side of 60º N or more in Eurasia, North America , Alaska and Canada. The cold Climate have a long winters and summers are short. Temperatures are very low during winter, warm in summers for the lattitude. Finally we can said that the precipitation is little throughout the year.
